- The IHOM Music Ministry -
I believe that God intended us to reach people through
our performances.
We are not only performing for the Parish, we are
performing for God!
Let’s be positive, have fun, sing and play well, but most
of all, let us leave our fellow parishioners with such a good spiritual feeling
that they will want to come back next week for more!
Schedule Change per Father Allen - Effective Until
Further Notice:
There
will be no music or singing at the Saturday 4:30 Masses.
Hopefully,
this will be a temporary situation and is subject to change at any time.
Kids and Adult Choirs:
Everyone needs to show up on time.
It is not fair
to the others if people come late.
Making all of the practices is important.
If you can’t make it, see someone after practice to
catch up.
If you have other activities, please let me and Loni
know.
We will try to help if we can, if not, enjoy your
other activities and consider coming back to choir when your schedule is
changed.
Do NOT schedule other meetings unless approved by the Director.
In both the Kids and Adult choirs, we have a mix of
talents from novice to professionals.
Please be understanding of others and try not to hurt
anyone’s feelings.
Remember, we are a family!
Choirs & Practice Times at the Church:
Kids 6:00 – 7:00pm,
Adults 6:45 –
8:00.
Generally, the first Sunday of the month is Kids Choir
at the 10:30 Mass
and the last (4th) is Adult Choir at both
8:30 and 10:30 Masses.
Adult Choir may be moved to a 5th week for
those 5 week months.
Cantor & Musician Practice:
Per Father Allen, Cantors and Musicians MUST
practice before a scheduled Mass.
There is to be no music, singing, etc after 8:00 am and 10:00 am on Sundays. This is because parishioners need quite time to pray.
This will allow us all to work together at least
occasionally.
Let's check with one another to see if either
musicians or cantor can switch.
Everybody please advise of
vacations as soon as possible.
If either musician or cantor cannot make the assigned
schedule, it is up to that person to find coverage within existing members of
the IHOM Music Ministry and is pending approval of the Music Director.
Special
Masses, Weddings, Funerals, etc:
As needed, Father will request
music for various special days of obligation, etc.
The Music Ministry will make
every attempt possible for coverage. We should avoid going “outside” for
musicians and cantors because this generally results in a higher cost to the
Church. Where possible, we should train and promote from within the Parish.
In Summary, the various music programs at IHOM have
been very successful and the Music Ministry would like to keep up the momentum.
In order to do so, it is important to adhere to the above guidelines as best as
possible.
Thanks to all involved for your talents and
dedication.
God bless.
